Appalachia Church, West Virginia

Experience the serene beauty of Appalachian Church. This digital painting, in my view as the photographer making this photo, is “charming”.  And the reason for this is that it is in one of the hardest hit areas of Appalachia, economically.  This town was “broken”, but not totally it seems.

Traveling through the town my eye quickly saw this cute church and I decided to make a picture.  What I did NOW see, until I got up close to the church, was that gorgeous little vase with the yellow flower in it.  To me, this photo should be titles “resilience”, because in the midst of great economic difficulty, some member of this church had enough pride and character to put the flower there…..no matter the squalor right around it
